Dutch UMAX clients switched to the new market model: Upstream!
The 1st of August 2013 is a date to remember, as it represents the culmination of months of hard work and preparation from a significant number of people from various utility players and IT vendors.
At midnight, the Netherlands officially switched to the new Dutch market model: Upstream! This is an absolute milestone and unique achievement for Itineris, the company behind the UMAX business solution for utilities. As of 00h00, Itineris succeeded in the simultaneous go-live of 4 of its Dutch UMAX clients in the Netherlands; all of them compliant with the new market model!

Josine den Rooijen – Test manager & Project Manager Upstream! – added: “All data migration and parameterization was completed yesterday so our UMAX utility clients customers could focus on the wrap-up: the import of the C-AR (Official & Centralized Connection Repository) extract and establishing the connection with EDSN, the organization that supports and coordinates all administrative messaging between Dutch utility market parties. At midnight, the EDSN Steering Committee for the Transition has given a final go for initiating the systems: as of today, Upstream is live!”
However, the story does not end here: a period of aftercare commences. Now that all Dutch market parties have made the switch to the new market model, all systems will have to be carefully monitored during the following weeks. Undoubtedly, each party will require some corrections to their processes until all issues are addressed and everything has perfectly fallen into place.
